On Friday I decided to take the patient approach to birding. Around coffee o’clock, half tenish, I wandered into the forest and settled down with the dogs on a fallen tree. It worked a treat as a long range birding tactic, it did until a lass wandered past with a Boxer, Labrador and a Heinz.
